Vacancy Rate

The percentage of units that are vacant (unoccupied) compared to total available units in a property. For commercial properties, it measures the percentage of square footage that is unleased.

Vacancy Rate = (Vacant Units ÷ Total Units) × 100 OR Vacancy Rate = (Vacant Square Footage ÷ Total Square Footage) × 100
